Scheme Outline

If you like accountability and an incredible level of variety in your job, manufacturing is the scheme for you. Your challenge is to deliver manufacturing efficiencies, whilst adapting to the changing needs of customers and consumers.

You are most likely to find yourself responsible for teams running production lines and for their quality, output and costs. As well as organisational and technical skills, you'll need to promote the highest standards in health and safety. Bakkavör use materials, labour and equipment to create thousands of products every day. Your challenge is to get them all together in the right place, in the right quantity – to deliver at the right time. Your role is to ensure that our customers get the outstanding service they expect.

Criteria: You will be expecting, or will have attained a manufacturing, engineering or business related degree, or will have some manufacturing experience.

Duration: 2 years - commencing Summer 2010

Training: There will be various training courses over the 2 years of the scheme, such as presentation skills, intelligent manufacturing, leadership and management. In addition you will receive on the job training, coaching and mentoring

Content: 2 twelve month placements doing real jobs, within different businesses, with a varied product portfolio and different customers. These roles could be anywhere across the country. One of these roles will include responsibility for managing operators on a line, whilst one role could be Logistics, Planning or Engineering in focus. It is anticipated that after two years you will be doing a Supervisor or Section Manager role. You should reach a senior operations role within 7-10 years

Location: Placements could be at anyone of our sites in the UK.

Salary: £22,000 - 2 weeks B&B or rent plus reasonable removal costs
