Working for a food manufacturer, we are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant / IT Support within the Finance Department, reporting to the Business Accountant. This is a unique role as it involves balancing differing demands in order to provide both hands on first-line IT support across site and support to the Finance Function.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

· Efficient resolution of IT and Telecom issues, as assigned by Business
· Proactive management of all Business software and hardware
· To ensure site enforcement of current IS standards and procedures
· To assist with Month end accounts
· To provide analysis of accounting information and present findings where required
· To assist with the production of management information

To be successful in this role, candidates must be able to demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving in order to be active in identifying and leading the implementation of new ways / systems of working to improve efficiencies.

A proven ability to prioritise workload is also essential to ensure that day-to-day support is delivered in addition to meeting monthly deadlines and delivering time defined projects that generate significant benefits to the business.

The successful candidate will have a commercial outlook and the ability to work cross-functionally with people at all levels in order to deliver excellent customer service at all times. Good interpersonal and communication skills are a must.

Experience of Microsoft Office applications, specifically MS Access, and a genuine interest in PCs is a must. A relevant degree (IT / Accountancy / Business) or applicable experience will be advantageous.

This position is ideal for a flexible, self motivated individual who is willing to learn and work toward a professional qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA), if not already doing so.
