FMCL has successfully developed a new career route for candidates to consider, and can now offer a range of job opportunities in South Africa. These are based within the leading food retailer and its supply base, and cover a variety of job disciplines.

The market is growing rapidly in South Africa and there is a strong consumer demand for the levels of food innovation and quality that UK customers benefit from. The retail market is dominated by a handful of major organisations, but our client operates at the premium end of the scale, and is well regarded for its range development and product quality standards. The food manufacturing supply base is keen to extend its skills and processing knowledge through the selective recruitment of key players from the UK where the expertise is second to none, particularly in prepared foods.

To qualify for work permits in South Africa, candidates need to show strong food industry experience in areas where there are gaps in the local market, especially from a New Product Development, Technical, Production or Retail Buying background. Opportunities exist in the Cape Town and Johannesburg areas primarily, but also further afield.

Our clients require interested candidates to undergo an initial assessment in the UK with FMCL, and would then possibly bring those selected down to South Africa for a further meeting. Remuneration levels will be discussed with candidates dependent on experience and business need. International relocation assistance will be provided.
