As Sales Manager for Volac, you are responsible for the sales performance of whey products to the dairy, bakery, confectionery and soups & sauces markets in the area Benelux, Germany, France and Scandinavia, location The Netherlands.

Volac has a global presence through joint ventures, manufacturing agreements and a strong distribution network. The company employs in total 175 people, with HQ located in Orwell (near Cambridge). Building on detailed nutritional experience and technical know-how Volac entered the human food ingredients market in 1998. The main factories for the food business are based in Felinfach (UK) and Hoogeveen (the Netherlands). Today Volac leads the market in nutritional whey protein ingredients for the sports and health food markets.

 

Position

·         Responsible for the sales performance of whey products to the dairy, bakery, confectionery and soups & sauces markets in the area Benelux, Germany, France and Scandinavia

·         Formulating and implementing sales plans and activities in the designated territory

·         Maintaining and further developing long term and successful partnerships with key customers and trading partners

·         Creating new business opportunities by product innovation

·         Ensuring that customer requirements are effectively and efficiently communicated to the production sites in Felinfach and Hoogeveen

·         Providing sales reports and relevant market information on a regular base

·         Working closely together with other Volac colleagues in Orwell, Felinfach and Hoogeveen

·         Reporting to the Commercial Manager Food Ingredients  

 

Profile

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a (food) technical or economical direction 

·         Several years of sales experience in the food ingredients business

·         Knowledge of the European food industry and relevant products and applications

·         Comfortable working and travelling in an international business environment, partly at the  location Hoogeveen and partly from a home base 

·         Excellent communication skills, with fluency in Dutch, English and German and preferably good knowledge of French

·         Personal skills: pro-active, client and results oriented, convincing, problem solving, networker, well organised and team player
